The successful launch of HilcoOutlet.com marks an important milestone for Hilco APAC – and it started with an extraordinary inventory opportunity.
We launched the platform with $12 million worth of ILVE Italian cooking appliances, offering consumers access to brand-new products at up to 70–90% off RRP.
But while the headline numbers are significant, the thinking behind Hilco Outlet is even more important.
At Hilco APAC, our business has always been focused on helping companies unlock value from assets and inventory. We work with businesses facing a wide range of commercial situations – from surplus and excess inventory through to restructures, liquidations and broader asset realisation programs.
Traditionally, that value has been unlocked through established B2B channels, auctions and negotiated sales.
Hilco Outlet creates another option.
The launch of HilcoOutlet.com is our move into a dedicated direct-to-consumer digital channel.
The objective is simple: take quality, brand-new inventory that needs a route to market and make it accessible to consumers through a straightforward online purchasing experience.
Launching with $12 million of ILVE appliances was a deliberate choice.
ILVE is a well-established Italian appliance brand, and the inventory represented a significant opportunity to demonstrate what the platform could do at scale.
Rather than simply treating surplus inventory as a problem to be cleared, we see it as an opportunity to connect valuable products with a new audience.
For consumers, that means access to genuine brand-new products at compelling prices.
For businesses, it demonstrates that there can be sophisticated alternatives to traditional clearance channels.
Creating Hilco Outlet required considerably more than putting products online.
Our teams brought together decades of experience in asset valuation and monetisation with eCommerce, technology, digital marketing, inventory management, fulfilment and customer experience.
The result is a platform designed to be scalable – allowing us to introduce new inventory opportunities as they arise and respond quickly to changing market conditions.
The ILVE launch is the first major chapter, not the final one.
We believe there is a significant opportunity to expand the platform across additional brands, product categories and inventory situations.
For our clients, this means Hilco APAC can now offer another route to market when traditional channels may not be enough – combining our established asset monetisation expertise with a direct digital sales channel.
For consumers, it means more opportunities to purchase genuine products at significant savings.
And for our team, it represents an exciting evolution of what Hilco APAC can deliver.
We’re incredibly proud of the team behind the launch and, particularly, of what we have achieved by bringing $12 million of ILVE inventory to market through a completely new digital channel.
Hilco Outlet is live. And this is just the beginning.
